3d Printing Research

Pros:
- make anything you want out of plastic
- no/ little labor of building
- convenience
- create in bulk
- humanitarian uses
" Doctors will potentially be able to manufacture tailor-made body parts or organs, directly from replica human DNA, which would bypass the problem of donor rejection. - See more at: http://www.labmate-online.com/news/news-and-views/5/breaking_news/the_good_the_bad_the_ugly_of_3d_printing/31720/#sthash.8mi9rguU.dpuf "
Cons:
- only plastic
- unsturdy, only material is plastic
- expensive
- right now very early stage primitive
- violent uses
"Last year, the world's first 3D gun was printed by controversial American group Defense Distributed, who have plans to publish the blueprints online. - See more at: http://www.labmate-online.com/news/news-and-views/5/breaking_news/the_good_the_bad_the_ugly_of_3d_printing/31720/#sthash.8mi9rguU.dpuf"

Maker Faire Reflection Post

Our showcase was well designed, with the tri-folds and the computers we had ready for people to use for testing. The survey responses were also really helpful and gave us some amazing feedback on how to improve the game.
There were many other showcases at Maker Faire that I thought were amazing, the robot arm with the knife, the robotic giraffe, r2d2, the electricity music, and the "pose-ables".
Many people who filled out our survey didn't think this game was something that they would want to spend money on. Many enjoyed the game but didn't think buying it was worth it.
In our next deign process we would definitely need to work on the graphics, more interesting landscape, interactive landscape, better AI's, and more challenges and incentives.

Here are some pics from Maker Faire:

MAKER FAIRE Booth Design

In my design of the Maker Fair booth we would have a large poster on the table with different pictures of our class, our school, and us working on the game. Also there would be a large cardboard poster that would advertise our table. On the table there would be the computer where participants could play, and also a questions and comments box where we could encourage the players to submit feedback on the game.

This is my design in CAD.

Maker Faire Post 5/08/15

This week I finished the shield and the helmet with Sachi for the AI. Here is a picture of the helmet above. (The finished shield is on Sachi's post) Additionally, I began designing the setup for the booth at Maker Faire on Google Sketch up.

Maker Fair Documentation 5/1/15

This week I worked with Sachi and we finished several designs of the shield. Since we are not sure if the AI's will end up working we are not sure if we should continue CADing armor. Additionally, I saw Katie and Pallavi working on and finishing the coliseum; their CAD was amazing!
